Active ingredients

ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS (AHAs)
Natural AHA is extracted from various fruits such as grapes, citrus fruits, apples as well as sugar cane, and are rich in sugars that play a key role in the exfoliation process.
The AHA molecules successfully penetrate into the epidermis and break the cellular bonds enabling and facilitating a natural, quicker and more effective exfoliation. It is used in peeling treatments for the removal of dead skin cells present on the top of the epidermis and this will have the effect of renewing and improving the overall complexion, illuminating hyper-pigmentation and achieving a smooth, younger look. Among the most popular AHAs are glycolic acid, lactic acid and citric acid.

BETA HYDROXY ACIDS (BHA)
Beta Hydroxy Acids, among them Salicylic Acid, are lipid soluble and can penetrate the protective lipid layer into deeper layers of the epidermis and act there. Its ability to clean the pores, improve the proliferation of new skin cells increasing the skin’s thickness make it effective and often used in acne treatments.

RETINOIDS
Retinoids are derivatives of vitamin A, among them being vitamin A, retinol and more. Research has shown that topical application of vitamin A and its derivatives over a period of time has increased the elastin and collagen production, thickened the dermis layer and smoothed lines as well as small scars. Because retin-A demands a doctor’s prescription in cosmetics it is common to use retinol.
